1. The service
Midlife provides educational articles and AI-generated conversations for personal reflection. You must be 18 or older to start a conversation or book. You can try a free introductory conversation before choosing a paid service.
2. AI disclosure
Elena, James, Priya, and Catherine—including their names, conversational styles, and illustrative portraits—are fictional AI characters. They are not people or licensed professionals. They do not have clinical credentials, lived experience, feelings, or a therapeutic relationship with you.
Natural, human-like language is a conversational design choice. It does not mean a person is responding or monitoring your messages. AI can misunderstand you and produce inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate replies.
3. No clinical or emergency care
Midlife does not provide psychotherapy, diagnosis, prescriptions, or medical treatment, and does not establish a clinician–patient relationship. Do not use it to replace professional care, change medication, or make urgent health decisions.
If you or someone else may be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or seek urgent in-person help. Midlife cannot contact help on your behalf. See Get support for human assistance.
4. Free and paid sessions
The free conversation lasts up to 15 minutes, with a maximum of 36 message requests. No account or card is required. Capacity and abuse limits apply. It does not automatically become a paid session.
A full 60-minute session costs $79 USD. Paid booking requires an email-verified account and successful payment or an available membership session.
A full conversation lasts up to 60 minutes from the first time you join, with a maximum of 180 message requests. Returning or refreshing does not reset the clock. Failed response attempts may count toward limits. Join from 10 minutes before the booked time until 24 hours afterwards. Ending a session closes its access; unused time does not carry forward.
You may change a booking’s time in your account before joining and before its join window expires. Missed bookings expire after that window. Membership bookings must stay within the paid period that supplied their credit.
5. Membership
Membership costs $149 USD per month and includes 10 sessions of up to 60 minutes each per paid billing period. The session chosen at checkout uses one credit. A paid renewal grants the next period’s credits. Unused credits do not roll over.
Membership renews automatically each month until cancelled. Cancel through “Manage billing” in your account before renewal to stop future charges. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid period; remaining credits can be used within that period. No credits are granted for an unpaid renewal.
6. Payments, corrections, and refunds
Prices are in USD. Stripe processes payments and may request bank authentication. We do not store full card details. Booking is confirmed after verification of payment.
Payments are generally non-refundable, except where required by applicable law or when we approve a correction for an incorrect charge or service failure. If you cannot access a paid session or believe a charge is incorrect, contact us for review. Cancelling membership does not automatically refund earlier charges.
To prevent accidental duplicates, another same-amount single-session charge using the same card within 20 minutes may be automatically refunded instead of creating a second booking. Processing times depend on Stripe and your bank. Repeated payment failures may temporarily suspend checkout. These controls do not guarantee that every fraudulent payment will be prevented.
For account, booking, refund, or privacy requests, use the support contact in your account. Contact details will appear here when the service opens.
7. Privacy and accounts
Read the Privacy policy before sharing information. The application does not save transcripts. Notes you choose to save are retained for later sessions with that guide. AI, hosting, email, and payment providers process information as described in that policy.
Keep your email secure and do not share sign-in links. You are responsible for your submissions and decisions. Do not bypass limits, disrupt the service, commit fraud, or attempt to access another person’s information.
8. Educational content and availability
Articles and reflection prompts are general information and are not clinically reviewed. External resources are independent; we do not guarantee their accuracy, suitability, or availability. For professional care, find a qualified human therapist.
Access may be interrupted for maintenance, provider failures, or misuse. Contact us if an interruption affects a paid booking. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that applicable law does not allow to be excluded. The current terms and update date appear on this page.
